What is the difference between a recurring event and an event series?

AddEvent allows you to create both recurring events and event series. With a recurring event, you cannot edit or delete any of the occurrences individually. In contrast, event series allows you to create a mass of events at one time and then edit or delete them individually. This is because a recurring event is one event that occurs multiple times.

You can share a recurring event with one add to calendar button or add to calendar link. Since events in a series are individual events, you must use a subscription calendar if you want to share them with one add to calendar button or add to calendar link.

When to use a recurring event

Use a recurring event to share multiple occurrences of an event at one time and when you have an ongoing event that will not need to be updated or individually deleted.

When to use an event series

Use an event series to create a lot of events at once. These events cannot be shared at once, so it is mainly super useful to create and edit events all at once.
